Comedy written by and starring Sacha Baron Cohen following the
dedicated attempts of a dictator to stave off the terrible threat
of democracy. Like all good dictators, General Admiral Aladeen
(Cohen), the self-described 'Supreme Leader, All Triumphant General
and Chief Opthalmologist of the People's Republic of Wadiya',
understands that the people of his nation don't really know what
they want - only he does. That's why democracy is such a terrible
threat and why Aladeen must cast himself against it with as much
vigour as he can muster. Unfortunately, in the form of
ill-intentioned meddlers like the United States of America and the
United Nations, Aladeen also faces external threats to his rule.
The film follows him as he heads to a UN meeting in New York to
defy his enemies and their muddled notions of 'rule by the people'.
The Neuroscience of Empathy, Compassion, and Self-Compassion
provides contemporary perspectives on the three related domains of
empathy, compassion and self-compassion (ECS). It informs current
research, stimulates further research endeavors, and encourages
continued and creative philosophical and scientific inquiry into
the critical societal constructs of ECS. Examining the growing
number of electrocortical (EEG Power Spectral, Coherence, Evoked
Potential, etc.) studies and the sizeable body of exciting
neuroendocrine research (e.g., oxytocin, dopamine, etc.) that have
accumulated over decades, this reference is a unique and
comprehensive approach to empathy, compassion and self-compassion.

Secules, Piedmont College Instructional Patterns: Strategies for
Maximizing Student Learning examines instruction from the learners'
point of view by showing how instructional patterns can be used to
maximize the potential for students to learn. This book explores
the interactive patterns that exist in today's classroom and
demonstrates how teachers can facilitate the interactivity of these
patterns to match their goals for student learning. These
interactive patterns are reinforced through the incorporation of
medical, cognitive, and behavioral neuroscience research. This
unique book will serve as a core text for undergraduate and
graduate courses in K-12 General Teaching Methods, Middle School
and Secondary Teaching Methods, Elementary Teaching Methods, or
Instruction and Assessment. Key Features Guides students in
differentiating instructional practices to meet the needs of all
students, as well as in the practical issues of instruction Details
